The people

sch.ools.it has its roots in Norwich, UK but is not bound to any particular geographic location. It was founded by a group of UK educators with many years experience between them.

James Wright Founder

James’ first IT job was selling computers to fellow students at the tender age of 13 and hasn’t looked back since. Now aged 34, he has spent the last 13 years working in both commercial and public sector IT with the last 4 years spent working in the education sector.

He is passionate about closing the digital divide and takes a pragmatic approach to the question of big corporate ICT vs. that found in schools.

As well as working as a Secondary ICT Manager, he is a Primary Chair of Governors and therefore has a good understanding of many of the issues faced. He has just been instrumental in helping his school achieve SIMS Partnership Status.

He is a regular speaker at education events and is always available to offer advice.

Caroline Ackroyd ICT co-ordinator / advisor

Caroline has been a teacher all of her career and has taken a keen interest in ICT in education since the early days.

Having worked in both state and independent sectors, she is currently ICT co-ordinator at the Juniors Department of an Independent School where she is in the process of helping to guide them through the acquisition of the prestigious ICT Mark.

A regular reviewer for TEEM, she has also manned their stand at the National Education Show and is available for advice regarding Primary software.

Kate Atkins ICT co-ordinator / advisor

Kate is a Primary ICT co-ordinator in a challenging school with significant social deprivation issues. Undaunted by this she is driving forward the use of ICT at home and the school is investing heavily in laptop provision for students.

She is always on the lookout for innovative ways to enhance ICT use across the curriculum and will offer her findings on this site.

Fraser McKay Editorial Director

Fraser is a journalist by trade, his most recent engagement being that of Deputy Editor at the Diss Express.

Now operating in a freelance capacity, he will help us keep the site content in shape!

sch.ools.it is a not for profit venture, but is part of 4th Millennium Systems Ltd, a limited liability company registered in England and Wales.
